Music Benefits #1 Musical Training helps develop language and Reasoning!

Updated: Apr 18, 2023

Did you know that students who have early musical training will develop the areas of the brain related to language and reasoning. The left side of the brain is better developed with music, and songs can help imprint information on young minds.

The activity of keeping a beat, is a universal skill learnt at a young age, and in its most natural form is the interplay of words and music. Children's rhyming games often incorporate this concept, using body percussion and verse to create predictable patterns that hold meaning in a social context.

These musical activities require coordination, ordering and early vocalisation, making it the perfect activity to draw children's attention into their bodies and minds simultaneously while developing language and sequencing skills and the ability to control their entire movement, 'keeping it in time'.
